A "YES" out of 1,009 "NOs" for KFC

Most of us are afraid of rejections. And mostly, fears prevails over desires. That's why most of us just gave up on our dreams.

Pero kung meron ka ng deep reason WHY to achieve your ambition, walang makakapigil pa sa'yo, regardless of your age. Because it is never too late to succeed.

All you need is perseverance, dedication, and ambition along with hard work. 

Na-inspire ako sa kwento ni Harland "The Kentucky Colonel" Sanders or much well know as Colonel Sanders, the founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

Colonel Sanders was an entrepreneur who didn't become a professional chef until he was 40, didn't franchise Kentucky Fried Chicken until he was 62, and didn't become an icon until after he sold his company at 75. 

Malamang nakatikim ka na rin ng kanyang very famous na “finger lickin’ good” Kentucky Fried Chicken. ☺

Whether you like KFC or not, the story of Colonel Harland Sanders is truly amazing. This story is inspirational because it’s an example of how perseverance, dedication, and ambition along with hard work can create success; regardless of your age.

One of the most amazing aspects of his life is the fact that when he reached the age of 65, after running a restaurant and some franchise for several years, Colonel Sanders found himself penniless.

He retired and received his first social security check which was for $105 that pissed him off. And that was just the beginning of his international fame and financial success story..

Kung hindi mo pa alam yung istorya, Ganito yun…

Colonel Harland Sanders was a fellow who really loved to share his fried chicken recipe with a unique way to cook it. He fries a chicken on a pressure cooker that was converted into a "pressure fryer". He had a lot of positive influence from those who tasted the chicken.

And since his social security retirement check wasn't enough, the Colonel opted to sell his secret fried chicken recipe. 

Nag-umpisa si Colonel Sanders na magbahay bahay at inisa-isa ang mga restaurants all over his local area para i-demo kung paano lutoin ang manok gamit ang kanyang secret recipe. 

He wanted to partner with someone to help promote his chicken recipe in exchange of certain percentage of profit. But he was turned down by almost everybody. Puro rejections. Napahiya sya. Kinutya at pinagtawanan!

Pero hindi sya sumuko...

He leave the comfort of his local area and started travelling by car to different restaurants in America. And cooked his fried chicken on-the-spot for restaurant owners. 

He used two years travelling across the nation, sleeping on the back of his car full of cooking supplies, being rejected time after time after time. Legend has it that Colonel Sanders heard 1009 “NO's” before he heard his first “YES”.

Ok, let me repeat that.

He was turned down one-thousand and nine times before his chicken was accepted once!

Ouch! 1,009 REJECTIONS! Grabe ang saklap nun!

Malamang yong ibang tao, pang 2 or 3 rejections pa lang ay mag-QUIT na kaagad.

Pero si Colonel Harland Sanders…

Hindi option sa kanya ang mag-quit.
Hindi option sa kanya ang mag-give up.

Nagtuloy-tuloy lang sya!

And until his 1,010th presentation... He finally enter into handshake agreement to sell fried chickens using his secret recipe. The deal was that for each piece of chicken the restaurant sold, Sanders would receive a nickel. The restaurant would receive packets of Colonel’s secret herbs and spices in order to avoid them knowing the recipe. 

And the rest is history of a retired person who built a global empire out of fried chicken...

Tingin mo, may KFC kaya ngayon kung naging option kay Col. Sanders ang mag-quit nung makaranas s’ya ng sandamukal na rejections at failures?

Hindi sana nakakapag-generate ng Billions of Dollars of sales every year ang KFC kung una at pangalawang rejection pa lang sa kanya ay huminto na sya.

Buti na lang hindi n’ya pinili na mag-quit at mag-give up.

Kaya ikaw! kung nakakaranas ka ng kahit anong challenges sa pagkamit ng mga pangarap mo.. Sa business mo, rejections man yan, learning curve, etc. - wag kang hihinto… wag ka mag-give up basta-basta.

Ang gawin mo, punta ka sa KFC, order ka ng fried chicken, tapos alalahanin mo yung inspiring story ni Harland Sanders habang kumakain ng finger lickin' good chicken! OK?

Success can never be too late! You can be successful regardless of your age!
