Kadalasan, they are under 18 years of age at nangamohan para makatulong sa kanilang pamilya dahil hindi na kayang paaralin pa. Kaya they ended up working for an employer or "amo."
Alam nating lahat na si Inday ay underpaid (2-5 thousand a month), on-call for 24 hours dahil stay-at-home, expected to do all household chores, tagapag alaga ng bata o ng alagang hayop, at minsan taga massage din ng mga magagaspang na paa ng kanilang amo.
Before we discuss further about Inday, gusto ko lang na linawin sanyo na hindi lahat ng amo o may kasambahay ay multimillionaires (if they were, they won’t bother Inday to massage their crusty feet), kadalasan sa mga amo are from the middle class.
Now, maybe you are starting to wonder bakit natin paguusapan si Inday? Observe the following image and you'll realize who saves more and who spends more.
In the long run, Inday can retire young with her own hacienda sa Mindoro. ☺
Ngayon, tingnan naman natin kung paano ang spending lifestyle ni Inday at ng Ms.Employee na may mas mataas na sweldo from the previous example. Observe the following image:
This table is just to exaggerate how a high earning employee increase their expenses. But we all know na marami rin talaga sa atin na dinadagdagan ang hobbies and expenses when we earn more and there's money left to spend.
Hindi ko pinapalabas na you venture to the house help industry than getting a job that fits in on what you've studied hard from school. The lesson here is to live within the means and not to follow the wave of increasing your expenses as your salary grows.
Start saving some money and control the urge to buy unnecessary stuffs. Madali mong makikita ang mga hindi kinakailangan gastusin sa bracket ni Ms.Employee so you will be aware where to cut off expenses. Maging mapag-impok. It’s okay to be called cheap than broke.
I really want to hear from you, kung may katanungan ka, suggestion or negative feedback about sa blog post na ito, I'll be more than happy to learn from it and I'll get back to you as soon as I can...
